Transponder Letter

The following letter was set to Maria Rota at MassDOT:

This letter responds to your notice dated June 22,2018 that all Local 127 transponders will be deactivated effective June 29 2018 and that each such member will be required to pay tolls incurred, including those incurred while they are working on behalf of MassDOT. On behalf of Teamsters Local 127, I am putting MassDOT on notice that this unilateral change constitutes bargaining in bad faith and is therefore illegal. In that regard, I request that MassDOT immediately withdraw the notice to deactivate each transponder for all of our members. Further, if after the notices have been withdrawn MassDOT still seeks to deactivate the transponders, Teamsters Local 127 demands to bargain over any and all aspects of this action that constitutes mandatory subjects for collective bargaining in advance of any implementation. I hope to hear from you as soon as possible on this important matter.
Michael T. Cullen
Secretary-Treasurer/Principal Executive Officer
NOTE: All Local 127 members should keep a log of any tolls paid pending our processing of this case.
