Synopsis of Local 127 contract

The following is a synopsis of the proposed contract for Units B and C:

 

Synopsis for Units B & C contracts – July 2024 – June 2027

 

  • Probationary period – clarified that it is nine months that may be extended by a maximum of 90 days

  • Up to four times per year a member can call in sick during an overtime week without losing overtime

  • Comp time will now be capped at 90 hours but employees can now accrue comp hours for holiday time worked

  • DIFFERENTIAL, STANDBY and FRINGE BENEFIT INCREASES

    • Weekend and shift differentials up $1 to $2.25

    • Can now get weekend diff for both Saturday and Sunday

    • Standby pay doubles to $35

    • Meal allowances more than doubled

    • Travel allowance doubles to $49/day

    • New bilingual differential of $80/pay period

  • Employees have the chance to work the hour of Daylight Savings change to avoid losing pay

  • Extended bereavement benefit to other relations

  • Modified family, medical and military leave to conform to law

  • Vacation enhancement for employees hired with significant experience

  • Public transit reimbursement 50% of qualified purchases

  • WAGE INCREASES

    • January 2025 – 3%

    • July 2025 – 2%

    • January 2026 - 2%

    • July 2026 – 2%

    • January 2027 – 2%
