The application process for scholarships from the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund is now open.

The deadline for application completion is March 2, 2026.  Academic scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 and Vocational/Training program scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000 are available to High School seniors who are the sons/daughters/financial dependents of Teamster members (including members of the BLET, BMWED, TCRC, TCRC-BMW).  In 2025, the Fund awarded $1.2 million in scholarships to Teamster children across the U.S. and Canada.

Notice of Local Union Election Plan Submission Form

Highway Work

Dear brothers and sisters,
 
I am asking you today to provide written testimony on your experiences as a highway worker. I need testimony from all our members on the hazards of working on a major highway. Director Jonathan Gulliver provided the legislation and public safety officials with testimony yesterday and he needs “Back Up”.
 
Please call the office today and let’s show these politicians how powerful the Teamsters can be when we all come together. Please get involved with the blue light safety initiative.

Re:               OSHA 10 Construction Certification Course Offering - June 16 and June 17, 2025

Good morning Teamsters,

IBT’s Training and Grants Department is offering an OSHA 10 Construction Certification Course on Monday, June 16, 2025, and Tuesday, June 17, 2025, virtually from 7:00 am- 1:00 pm PST / 10:00 am – 4:00 pm EST each day.

The following requirements include:

  •     Attendee must be present online for the duration of class time each day.
  •     Attendee must participate both days throughout the course to obtain this certification.
  •     Video must be turned on at all times.
  •     Laptops and tablets with camera and speaker capabilities are allowed.

Good morning, Brothers and Sisters.

As you know, Teamsters Local 127 initiated a proposal for blue lights on construction vehicles and to change our retirement group after the loss of Brother Souza last year We’ve got a little traction and on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at the Statehouse in Boston, Room B2 at 10:30 in the morning, Mass/DOT Director Jonathan Gulliver will go in front of the transportation subcommittee in the legislature on a proposal to allow blue lights on all Massdot highway construction vehicles. Jonathan called the office and is asking for support from all the respective unions representing MassDOT. Be there and show your support for this safety initiative.

127 Update

House Bill. H.2908, An Act SOUZA'S Law to Change MASSDOT Highway Workers from Group 1 To Group 4 has made some progress going forward. The HOUSE and the SENATE have referred the Bill to the committee on  Public Service for review.
 
No promises, but a couple more hurdles and we might have something.

Monthly Dues

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
 
It is your responsibility to stay current with your monthly dues and to make sure your dues are paid. If you're out from injury or sickness or any leave at all, you need to pay your dues. Teamsters have compiled a list of members that are in arrears and DOT will start deducting an extra $20 per pay period till caught up.

Rear Facing Red Flashing Lights
